Tawny Newsome is an American actress, sketch comedian, and musician. She is most known for her roles in television comedies like The Comedy Get Down, Brockmire, and Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. 

A musician, she is part of the folk/country/soul quartet, Four Lost Souls, and had a successful career as a solo musician. She is also the co-host of Andrew Ti's "Yo, Is This Racist?" podcast, and the creator and the co-host of "The Supergroup" podcast.

Most recently, she is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix comedy series, Space Force, set for a May 29, 2020, premiere.

7. Co-Presenter Of The Yo, Is This Racist? Podcast  

Among her other accomplishments. Newsome is also a podcaster. Since 2018, she has co-presented the comedy podcast, Yo, Is This Racist?, with the podcast's creator, Andrew Ti.

The podcast deals with modern-day racism and involves listeners sending in questions on whether an act is considered racist.

Besides that, Newsome is also the creator and the co-host of the podcast, The Supergroup, wherein she collaborates with listeners to write and record songs.

6. Stars In The Upcoming Netflix Comedy Series, Space Force

Tawny stars as the helicopter pilot, Angela Ali, in the Netflix original comedy series, Space Force.  

The series is set to premiere on May 29, 2020, and is being billed as a workplace comedy centering around the employees of the United States Space Force division.

The series will see Steve Carell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers, along with Newsome round out the main cast.

Other notable guest appearances will include the likes of Jimmy O. Yang, Noah Emmerich, Jessica St. Clair, Noah Emmerich, and Jane Lynch, among others, and marks the final TV appearance from veteran Fred Willard, who died aged 86 on May 15, 2020.           

5. Voices Beckett Mariner In Star Trek: Lower Decks

Speaking of upcoming projects, Tawny is set to provide the voice for the lead character, Beckett Mariner, in the upcoming animated sci-fi space adventure series, Star Trek: Lower Decks.

A continuation of the Star Trek franchise, the series is set to premiere for CBS All Access sometime in 2020. 

The 10-episode animated series follows the adventures of the support crew aboard the U.S.S. Cerritos in the year 2380, and features voice-work from Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, and Eugene Cordero, among others.        

4. Married Life With Husband, Nate

Newsome has been married for more than seven years to her husband, Nate. Nate is not in the show business, so not much is known about him or their relationship.

But if their social media posts are any indication, the couple lives a charmed life and is still very much in love despite the proverbial "seven-year itch".

Tawny Newsome was born Tawny Ellain Newsome on February 24, 1983. The native of Vacaville, California, is 37 years old as of May 2020.

She is also comparatively tall and stands at an impressive 5 feet 10 inches (1.77 meters).

Tawny has also enjoyed success as a musician. She has a solo album to her name.

She is also part of the musical quartet, Four Lost Souls, with musicians Jon Langford, John Szymanski, and Bethany Thomas. The band released their self-titled debut studio album via Bloodshot Records in October 2017.

Besides her starring role in Space Force, Tawny has a whole catalog of notable television appearances. 

She was a recurring character as Nina in the BET mockumentary comedy series, The Comedy Get Down.

Newsome went on to land the role of Chelsea Leight-Leigh in the Seeso comedy series, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$.
