Josh Gad is an American actor and comedian. He is perhaps most widely-known as Olaf from the Frozen franchise and LeFou from the 2017 movie Beauty and the Beast

Gad is also a Tony Award-nominated theatre performer who has performed on Broadway.

Born Joshua Ilan Gad on February 23, 1981, in Hollywood, Florida, Gad has 69 acting credits to his name.

7. Father to Two Daughters with Wife, Ida Darvish 

Josh has been married to Ida Darvish. Darvish is an actress who is most known for her work in short movies like The Holy Cannoli, Big Guy, and One Last Thing. She has also had a prolific television career during which she was featured in such TV shows as Raising the Bar, Gigi: Almost American, and most recently, The Mandalorian.

Josh and Darvish tied the knot on May 10, 2008. On December 1, 2010, Ida gave birth to their first child together, a daughter, Ava Tanya Gad.

She gave birth to their second child, daughter Isabella Eve Gad, on February 17, 2014.     

6. Voice of Olaf in Frozen 

Besides his live-action acting roles, Josh has also been an extensive voice-acting portfolio under his belt. 

He is most widely recognized as Olaf, the magical snowman in the 2013 Disney computer-animated musical-adventure movie, Frozen. He reprised his role in the 2019 sequel, Frozen II.

Besides Frozen, he has lent his voice to a litany of different movies and TV shows. He voiced Bandana Dog in Marmaduke (2010), Louis in Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012), and Chuck in The Angry Birds Movie (2016) and The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019).

A modern live-action adaptation of the eponymous 1991 animated movie, Beauty and the Beast was a huge box-office success, grossing $1.264 billion at the worldwide box office.  

His other high-profile movie role includes 2017's mystery thriller, Murder on the Orient Express. He plays Hector MacQueen and joins an ensemble cast of such icons as Kenneth Branagh, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley.

He played William Barfée in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Circle in the Square Theatre in 2005.

Josh is also known to make cameos here and there in projects he regards highly. He made a cameo in the Thanksgiving 2011 edition of the ABC comedy series, Modern Family. He also appeared in a 2015 episode of Sesame Street as Vincent Van Stop.

He made intermittent guest appearances as Bear Claw in the comedy series New Girl from 2012 to 2015.

Most recently, Josh can be seen sharing the screen with acting icon Hugh Laurie in the HBO science-fiction comedy series, Avenue 5.

Set in the distant future on-board the Avenue 5, the series follows the misadventures of the interplanetary cruise ship when a malfunction sets the ship off-course.
