A Look at Justin Bieber's Discography Before He Drops His Fifth Studio Album, Changes

Justin Bieber has come a long way from his teenage heartthrob pop star days. He has come an even longer way from being the public nuisance who let fame get to his head. The former tattooed-up bad-boy would now sooner be known as Mr. Hailey Baldwin.

But despite people's opinion of him, one thing is undeniable: Justin Bieber is a gifted musician. Not only is he a multiple-platinum hit churning machine, but he is also a multiple Grammy Award-nominated performer and a one-time winner.

He is as prolific as he is prodigious and to date, he has released four studio albums, three compilation albums, three remix albums, and an EP.

February 2020 will see Justin Bieber release his fifth studio album. The album is titled Changes and seems apt considering that this is the first album the 25-year-old Canadian pop sensation has dropped since getting married to Hailey Baldwin.

While we wait with bated breath for Changes to drop later this month, we look through the years at the extensive and versatile repertoire of Justin Bieber's work through the years.

Debut With EP, My World

After being discovered at age 12, Justin Bieber took no time in showing that he was here to stay. He released the EP, My World, on November 17, 2009.

The EP was a massive success in the US and sold 2,080,000 copies in the states alone.

The Drop Of Debut Studio Album, My World 2.0, And Overwhelming Success Of The Single, "Baby"

Bieber's EP, My World, was the first part of a two-part project which was supplemented by Bieber's debut studio album, My World 2.0

The album dropped on March 19, 2010, and peaked at #1 in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Bieber was on the verge of breaking through and this album pushed him over the edge and onto the bright lights of showbiz.

The lead single off of the album, "Baby" featuring the rapper, Ludacris, still remains, to this day, one of Justin's biggest hits. On YouTube, it held the record of the most-viewed video from July 12, 2010, until it was dethroned by Psy's "Gangnam Style" on November 24, 2012. As of February 2020, the official music video for "Baby" has been viewed 2.1 billion times on YouTube.

A critical success, the album moved 3,330,000 copies in the US alone and was certified platinum three times by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Second Studio Album, Under the Mistletoe

Spurred on by the success of his debut album, Justin Bieber began firing on all cylinders to put out his second studio album. The album, titled Under the Mistletoe, was released on November 1, 2011, and if it wasn't obvious by the name, it was a Christmas album.

The album debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 and has moved 1,510,000 copies in the US. It was also certified platinum by the RIAA.

Change In Musical Themes With Third Studio Album, Believe And Lead Single "Boyfriend

Despite reaping the rewards of the overwhelming fame and fortune brought by his teen pop-icon image, Justin decided it was time for a move away from the typecast. That shift was none more so apparent than in his third studio album, Believe.

The album was released on June 15, 2012, and like its predecessor, debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 charts.

The chart-topping third album was #1 in sixteen countries and sold 1,610,000 copies in the US. It was also certified Platinum three times by the RIAA.

It is hard to imagine triumph greater than the one he had with this album, but the lead single, "Boyfriend" managed to do just that, being the most-viewed video in 24 hours on VEVO until One Direction's "Live While We're Young". The official music video for "Boyfriend" currently has 780 million views on YouTube.

Fourth Studio Album, Purpose, And Hits "What Do You Mean?", "Sorry", "Love Yourself"

Justin's metamorphosis from teenage pop-icon to adult R&B sex symbol was solidified with his 2015 release, Purpose.

His fourth studio album was released on November 13, 2015, and topped the US Billboard 200 charts in its debut. It also managed to sell 522,000 copies in its debut week and as of 2020 has sold 1,900,000 copies in the US, 1,200,000 copies in the UK, and 227,000 copies in Canada.

The album was also certified platinum four times by the RIAA.

The singles "What Do You Mean?", "Sorry", "Love Yourself" performed exceedingly well in national and international charts.

Purpose was also nominated in four categories at the 59th Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album with the single, "Love Yourself"  being nominated for  Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Bieber's Compilation Albums And Remix Albums

Apart from his four successful studio albums, Bieber also has three compilation albums and three remix albums to his name.

His compilation albums: My Worlds: The Collection, Journals, and The Best were met with a tepid reaction from critics, but performed well with the fans.

His remix albums: My Worlds Acoustic, Never Say Never: The Remixes, and Believe Acoustic was also able to achieve platinum status from various media industry certifications.

February 2020 And Fifth Studio Album, Changes And The Singles "Yummy" And "Intentions"

Justin's fifth studio record is set to drop this month. The album, titled Changes will mark his first record as a married man.

The highly-anticipated record will feature performances by such artists as  Quavo, Post Malone, Lil Dicky, Travis Scott, and Kehlani, among others.

A behind-the-scenes look into the work that went behind the creation of Changes is chronicled in the 10-part docu-series dubbed Justin Bieber: Seasons. The series premiered on January 27, 2020, on Justin's official channel on YouTube Premium.  It focuses on the young stars' journey so far including his relationships, new album and his diagnosis with Lyme disease
