7. Plays Sam Wilson/Falcon In The Marvel Cinematic Universe   

Anthony Mackie is perhaps most ubiquitously known as the Marvel comics character Sam Wilson and his superhero alter-ego, Falcon.    

After debuting the character in the 2014 superhero movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Falcon has been a mainstay of six Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, appearing in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War,  Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.    

Fans thought the saga of Falcon ended with Avengers: Endgame. Still, with Disney+ announcing The Falcon and the Winter Soldier limited series, Mackie is set to reprise the beloved character again, this time on the small-screens.

6. Father To Four Children With Ex-Wife Sheletta Chapital

Mackie married his childhood sweetheart Sheletta Chapital in an intimate ceremony on 17 December 2014. The private service was held in Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Among the in-attendants were 150 of their closest friends and relatives. 

Their marriage yielded four children. Despite their seemingly fairytale-like marriage, they got divorced in 2018. Their separation was amicable, and they share joint custody of their four kids.   

5. Played Tupac Shakur In 2009's Notorious

Mackie played a rapper in the Eminem movie 8 Mile. He was panned for trying to mimic the rap icon, Tupac Shakur.

He got the last laugh as he landed the role of Shakur in the 2009 biographical film Notorious. He had played Shakur even before that: he played the deceased rapper in his college play, Up Against the Wind in 2001.

Before making it big in Hollywood, Mackie was honing his craft in the hallowed halls of Broadway. 

He performed alongside Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, and Zoe Kazan in the Broadway play, A Behanding in Spokane.

After establishing his brand in Hollywood, he never got complacent and never once rested on his laurels. Instead, he tried his hand at other endeavors, one of which was owning a bar in Brooklyn.

In 2011, Mackie opened the bar NoBar in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. He had plans to start the second bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, but he was forced to close all bars in 2015 due to financial issues.

Mackie has been involved in some of the biggest flicks of the 21st century. He holds the distinction of starring in two Best Picture Academy Award-winning movies, 2004's Million Dollar Baby and 2008's The Hurt Locker.
