Lee Boardman is a twenty-four year veteran of English cinema and television. Since his 1996 on-screen debut in an uncredited role in the rom-com, Emma, Boardman has truly solidified his place in showbiz with spectacular performances in TV series like Coronation Street, Rome, and Da Vinci's Demons; as well as movies like Jack the Giant Slayer, The Young Messiah, and Peterloo.

He also plays George Morris in the ITV crime-drama series, Bancroft. Hot off of a successful second season that dropped in January, the series saw Boardman reprise his role as George Morris, and the show was all the better for it.

7. Played George Morris in Bancroft

His most recent turn saw Lee Boardman as Detective Inspector George Morris in the ITV crime-drama series, Bancroft

Starring opposite Sarah Parish as the titular Detective Chief Superintendent Elizabeth Bancroft, Boardman was also joined by Adam Long, Adrian Edmondson, Charles Babalola, Ryan McKen, Faye Marsay, and Shameem Ahmad who make up the main cast of Bancroft.     

6. Married to Actress Jennifer James

Boardman has been married to fellow Brit actress, Jennifer James since 2001. They had been acquainted on-set of Coronation Street and maintained a friendship that blossomed into romance.

They eventually made things official on May 12, 2001, when they tied the knot.

5. Father of Two with Wife, Jennifer

Boardman's marriage to Jennifer yielded two children. Their firstborn was a boy, born in March 2004, named Jack Alexander Boardman. 

Their second child was a girl, named Scarlett Marie Boardman, born in April 2010. 

4. Has Lent His Voice to The Witcher and Assassin's Creed Franchises 

Apart from being a bona fide TV and movie actor, Boardman is also an accomplished voice actor. His deep and distinct voice lent to him landing voice-over gigs in some of the biggest video game franchises in history.

Not only is he part of one of the biggest and most successful action-adventure role-playing game franchise of all time in The Witcher franchise, lending his voice to The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt - Hearts of Stone, but he also voiced a myriad of characters in the Assassin's Creed franchise.

He has provided additional voices for Assassins Creed III, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassins Creed: Unity, Assassins Creed: Rogue, and Assassins Creed: Origins.

Additionally, he also voiced Alexander/Imperial Guardsman in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine.

3. Breakthrough in Coronation Street

Although he would make his official on-screen debut in 1996 in the rom-com, Emma, Boardman's career would only take off a year later after finding prominence in the English soap opera, Coronation Street

He landed the recurring gig of Jez Quigley in the drama series and was a featured cast member from 1997 to 2000. He appeared in 35 episodes, at the end of which, Boardman had found a new lease on his career.   

2. Played Amerigo Vespucci in Da Vinci's Demons

Lee Boardman played the cartographer merchant, Amerigo Vespucci in the re-imagining of Leonardo Da Vinci in the fantasy-drama series, Da Vinci's Demons.

Starring Tom Riley as the titular Leonardo Da Vinci, the series integrates elements of the mystical to provide a revisionist retelling of the lore of Leonardo Da Vinci.
