Jay R. Ferguson is an American actor. A second-generation actor, Ferguson is most known for his five-year stint in the AMC period drama, Mad Men, during which he was nominated for two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Now 45, married, a father, and with more than 50 acting credits under his belt, Ferguson can be seen in the USA Network anthology series, Briarpatch.

7. Married Father of Three with Lorena Ruiz

You wouldn't know it by looking at his social media accounts or keeping a close eye at his red-carpet appearances, but Ferguson is a married man. He is married to actress Lorena Ruiz -- of Hitos fame.

Their private life is kept so low-key that even IMDb, a site which is usually on the ball with such things, has no record of the date of their marriage nor the venue. 

Ferguson is also a father to three children with Ruiz but has successfully managed to keep them out of the clutches of the paparazzi.    

6. Son of Actress Bobbie Ferguson and Jay Rowland Ferguson

Jay Ferguson was born Jay Rowland Ferguson Jr. on July 25, 1974. He is the son of actress Bobbie Ferguson and her then-husband, Jay Rowland Ferguson.

Bobbie was an actress in the '80s and '90s, most known for her TV roles. She made guest appearances in such TV shows as The Dukes of Hazzard, The Fall Guy,  Remington Steele, and What's Happening Now!        

She also had more prominent roles in TV series like Dallas, Designing Women, Evening Shade, and Hearts Aflame

Bobbie was married to Jay Rowland Ferguson from 1973 to 1981, during which they had Jay Ferguson Jr.

5. Breakout Role as Stan Rizzo in Mad Men

Ferguson's breakout role came in 2005 when he landed the part of Stan Rizzo in the AMC period drama series, Mad Men

Stan Rizzo makes his first appearance in the sixth episode of season 4 as the successor to the previous art director at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.

The Jon Hamm-led period drama was the recipient of many awards and accolades throughout its run, including two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2013 and 2016.

4. One of the Lead in Briarpatch

Most recently, Ferguson has played one of the series lead in the USA Network anthology drama series, Briarpatch, starring Rosario Dawson.

Based on the eponymous novel by American author Ross Thomas, the series follows private investigator Allegra Dill (Dawson) as she tries to uncover the mysterious circumstances surrounding her sister's death in a car bombing.

Ferguson plays Jake Spivey in the show, which premiered on February 6, 2020.

Besides Dawson and Ferguson, other cast members for the first season include Edi Gathegi, Brian Geraghty, Kim Dickens, John Aylward, and Stephanie Hill.
