Linda attended Loyola Marymount University and graduated with a degree in theatre arts in 1997. She also completed a summer study program at the National Theatre in London. Currently, she resides in Los Angeles.

Linda is the daughter of Lorraine Hernan, a homemaker, and Wayne David Cardellini, a businessman. She has three older siblings.

Linda provided her voice for the fictional character, Velma Dinkley, in live-action movies: Scooby-Doo and its sequel Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. She also voiced Velma in the video game Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Velma Dinkley is one of the main characters of the Scooby-Doo franchise and has been portrayed by Lauren Kennedy, Hayley Kiyoko, and Sarah Gilman in the live-action movie.

Linda Cardellini and her boyfriend Steve Rodriguez welcomed their first child on 2012. The couple has named their daughter Lilah-Rose Rodriguez, who was born on February 29, 2012.

Cardellini has known Rodriguez since she was ten years old. In an interview with the People magazine, she said, “He was 11. He was the new kid at my school. He could do amazing bike tricks, and I was impressed. Not afraid to say it.”

They reconnected at some time around 2010. Shortly after the birth of their daughter, Steve and Cardellini became engaged in June 2013.
