The Witcher has already received rave reviews, and Henry has been singled out as the highlight. In this top 7 list, we take a look at some facts you probably did not know about the English actor.

7. He Was Dubbed the "Most Unlucky Man in Hollywood" By Empire Magazine

Looking at his career now, Henry is anything but unlucky, but there was a time when he was hard-pressed to find the acting roles he desired.

He was in talks for playing Edward in the Twilight movie franchise but lost the running to Robert Pattinson. He was also short-listed for the new James Bond, but Daniel Craig was instead offered the part of Bond in 2008's Casino Royale.

Before Man of Steel, Henry was in the running to play Superman in Superman Returns but lost out the role to Brandon Routh.

His run of bad luck prompted Empire Magazine to designated him as the "Most Unlucky Man in Hollywood."

His dry spell fortunately ended, and things turned out pretty well for Henry in the end.

6. He Was Bullied And Called "Fat Cavill"

Henry Cavill was bullied as a child for his looks: proving once and for all that irony exists. It is hard to imagine the guy that looks like he was chiseled out of stone to have ever been anything but shredded, but there was a time when Henry retained his baby fat and was called "Fat Cavill."

Fortunately, he lost the surplus weight for a role in the 2002 movie The Count of Monte Cristo, and his bullies were forced to eat their words when Henry Cavill became a symbol of male fitness.

5. Almost Lost His Job Due To World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft is a super addictive online role-playing fantasy game, as Henry can attest to.

Henry almost lost the role of Superman when he missed a call from the director Zack Snyder telling him he landed the role.

In an interview with Jay Leno, Henry said the following about the day he received the call:

"I was playing this game and you can't save it. You can't pause or anything and other people are relying on you to play on a team. And it was a highpoint of the game. And so the phone's ringing and I'm ignoring it because I'm not going to bail on these guys. And I look down and it's Zack Snyder calling, so I dive for the phone, and I missed the call from Zack Snyder, the one I'd been waiting for, for Man of Steel."

The story thankfully had a happy ending, and we got to see Henry's rendition of the Man of Steel.

4. Has A Full Eight-Pack Abs

Having six-pack abs is hard enough. But Henry is one of the rare Hollywood stars to sport a full eight pack. Having eight pack abs require a rigorous and targeted workout regimen, a strict diet, and good genes.

The eight pack abs made its debut in 2011's fantasy drama movie, Immortals and have been a staple of Cavill's movies since.

3. Fluent In Four Languages

Henry is multilingual. While it is rumored that he can speak nine languages, Henry has since dispelled the rumors and said that he only speaks four languages. In addition to English, Henry is fluent in French. He also can converse in Italian and German. In jest, Henry also mentioned that he can order a beer in Czech.

2. He Was Engaged To Ellen Whitaker

Henry used to be engaged to English showjumper Ellen Whitaker.

They exchanged rings in May 2011, but their engagement was called off later that year.
