Actor and producer, David H. Holmes, is prominent for his performance in television shows as Mindhunter and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

7. Co-Directed a Documentary Film

David H. Holmes, along with his friend, Gene Gallerano, directed a documentary film titled Starring Austin Pendleton. The 20-minutes long documentary revolves around the life and work of American actor, playwright, theatre director, and instructor, Austin Pendleton

Holmes regards Pendleton as his mentor and talked about his experience while directing the short biography film in an interview with Brief Take magazine,

"Austin continues to inspire me when it comes to thinking about the longevity of a career and understanding where it’s important to put your energy, especially now, that it has taken me so many years to get to this point. I look back on everything that he has said and taught me as this tender lesson in a business that can leave you very vulnerable."

6. Holmes Has Framed his First Paycheck

Holmes came to New York City around 2004 at the age of 17. Despite knowing about the difficulty novice actor face to get a role in the movies, Holmes felt he was on a safe train since he had already booked an acting gig; and, above all, had received a payment for it.

The gig presented him with a cheque of $25 for a reading. David, as pleased as Punch, wanted to savor the moment, framing the copy of the paycheck as a souvenir.

5. Represented by Buchwald Talent Agency

The  Buchwald,  launched in 1977 by Don Buchwald, took to Instagram to share the news of Holmes joining the cast of High Fidelity. The company, with offices in Los Angeles and New York, is best known as the longtime agency of radio host Howard Stern.

It offers representation in every area of the entertainment industry as commercial, broadcast, film, television, theatre, literary, feature film packaging, personal appearance, radio, television and digital, branding/digital, and emerging talent. 

4. Had Auditioned for Various Character in Superbad

Holmes had received altogether sixth invitation from the casting office to return for an audition for coming-of-age teen comedy film Superbad. By the time of the sixth callback, he had already tried out for all three of the main characters of the movie. 

However, he didn't win the role, which eventually went to Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Shortly after the news, David's manager dropped him without much explanation, High Fidelity actor recalled with Backstage magazine in February 2020. He adds, it took him 'years to learn not to take these situations personally, and instead to realize that you get the roles you are meant to get.'

3. Had A Episodic Role in Midhunter

Holmes portrayed the character, Cody Miller, in the crime thriller television series Mindhunter. The character was introduced in Episode 1 of the first season that aired on October 13, 2017.

Miller is caught in a hostage situation and is under the illusion that he is invisible to the police officers. Despite the FBI Special Agent trying to build a connection with him, Miller kills himself by shooting in the head. Holmes considers Midhunter as the project that made a difference for him, stating, 

"Midhunter was such an affecting show and I got to work with Fincher. That was a highlight. It was unbelievable, and it was a crazy scene and it was such a bonkers thing to have to do, and that stuck with me for a while."

Holmes maintains a single status, according to numerous online sources. There is scant information available regarding Holmes' dating life, meaning most are unsubstantiated.

Holmes plays as Simon Miller in the romantic comedy web television series High Fidelity, based on the eponymous novel of the author Nick Hornby. It premiered on Hulu on February 14, 2020, and has completed season one as of now.

David's character, Simon Miller, is seen as sarcastic and cranky but with an attractive quirkiness. He loves judging others and possesses an eccentric yet extensive taste in music. It is revealed that he had dated Zoë Kravitz's character, Robyn "Rob" Brooks, for a year. 

However, later, Simon comes out as homosexual, which abruptly ends his relationship with Simon. Nevertheless, he maintains a good friendship with Rob and is an employee of the record store, Championship Vinyl, owned by her.

He is known for his appearance on Miracle in Cell No. 7 which is a Turkish movie on Netflix.
