He recently played one of the starring characters, Archie Coleman, in the Netflix drama miniseries, Hollywood.

Jeremy Pope starred in the Netflix drama miniseries, Hollywood, as Archie Coleman, an aspiring African-American actor and the boyfriend of actor Rock Hudson (Jake Picking).

The seven-part miniseries premiered on May 1, 2020, and centers around a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers during the golden era of Hollywood as they seek to leave their mark on the industry, no matter the cost.

The series featured a star-studded cast consisting of actors like David Corenswet, Darren Criss, Dylan McDermottLaura HarrierSamara Weaving, Joe Mantello, and Jim Parsons.   

Considering this is only his second on-screen acting credit and yet he is one of the standouts of the series, Jeremy Pope has a bright future ahead of him.

6. What is Jeremy Pope's Age and Height?

Jeremy Pope was born on July 9, 1992. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, he is of African-American descent. Pope is 27 years old as of May 2020 and just shy of turning 28.   

He is 5'8" (1.78 meters) tall. 

5. Jeremy Pope is Openly Gay

Pope has been outspoken about his sexuality and has openly stated that he is gay. As such, he has taken emotionally-resonant roles like the character he played in Hollywood, Archie Coleman, an aspiring African-American actor who gets marginalized.

About his playing Archie Coleman and how it resonated with him, Pope said in an interview with Variety,

"I know the struggles of what people before me had to go through, being black and being queer and trying to occupy a space in the industry that wasn’t built for them or for us. That’s a struggle within itself."

4. Tony Award-Nominated Theatre Performer

Although he might not have an extensive on-screen body of work, he has been a prolific theatre performer.

He is most known for playing Pharus Jonathan Young in the play Choir Boy, first off-Broadway in 2013 for New York City Center, Geffen Playhouse, and Alliance Theatre. 

His reprisal of the character on Broadway in 2018-2019 earned him a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play. He received another Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical the same year for playing Eddie Kendricks in the musical, Ain't Too Proud.

His other theatre works include plays like Invisible Thread and The View UpStairs.

3. Acting Debut in 2018 Horror Movie, The Ranger

Jeremy Pope is a newcomer to on-screen acting. The 27-year-old made his on-screen acting debut in 2018 in the slasher-horror movie, The Ranger.

Pope played Jerk, one of the teenage punks who seek refuge in a park cabin only to find the park ranger to be a psychopath.

The movie stars Chloë Levine, Jeremy Holm, Granit Lahu, Bubba Weiler, and Amanda Grace Benitez.

Pope's experience performing in musicals helped foster in him the skills and the passion to pursue singing/songwriting.

He produces music independently, and his singles 'New Love' and 'Feels So Good' were released in 2018.
