Inside The Obamas' Martha's Vineyard Mansion

Respected former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama recently bought an $11.75 million mansion in Martha's Vineyard on 6 December 2021.

According to Vineyard Gazette, the couple bought a Martha's Vineyard mansion for the bargain price of USD 11.75 million or AUD 17.16 million.

The Vineyard property was initially listed for $22.5 million back in 2015 by its previous owner, Wycliffe Grousbeck, and Corinne Basler Grousbeck. In June 2019, the price was decreased to $16.25 million and eventually to $14.85 million a month later in July.

The prior owner of a property purchased the estate for $3.1 million in 1998 ($4.89 million after adjusting inflation in 2019). The villa is located in Edgartown and was originally built in the year 2001.

The 29.3 acres property features a 6,892 square feet house. And the home boasts seven bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms, a circular formal dining wing, and a modern kitchen.

Moreover, there is a main suite complete with stone fireplace, two guest rooms, a private sundeck as well as an outdoor swimming pool.

Martha's Vineyard is a small island located on the coast of Massachusetts and is one of the popular holiday destinations for famous and rich personalities.

As a matter of fact, Obama and Michelle rented the very same house in summer before buying it in winter.

Actually, The Obamas are the well-known summer resident of Martha's Vineyard. During Barack's presidential terms, they would end up spending their August on the island.

It is reported that this is the first time, a resident of the White House bought a house in Martha's Vineyard.
