Based on the sci-fi novel, The Old Axolotl, by the Polish author, Jacek Dukaj, the official IMDb synopsis of the series reads:

"As the sun starts to kill everything in its path, a plane full of passengers attempts to fly west into the safety of the darkness to escape its destructive power." 

The main cast besides Pauline consists of an esteemed Polish lineup of actors including Jan Bijvoet, Nabil Mallat, Laurent Capelluto, Astrid Whettnall, Vincent Londez, and Mehmet Kurtulus, among others.
