    Jack Dorsey, 44, is an American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur who is widely known as the co-founder and CEO of an American microblogging and social networking services Twitter. 

    Dorsey is also widely popular for founding a financial services and mobile payment company titled Square. The programmer reportedly owns $2.7 billion in net worth as of early 2020.

    On 23rd October 2019, Twitter's stock price fell by 24% from $38.83 to $30.75. The reason was cited an earnings miss off a third-quarter report, which they blamed on ad targeting problems. 

    In May 2010, Dorsey and co-founder Jim McKelvey developed a business platform on a mobile device called Square. By 2012, the company was valued at $3.2 billion by Business Insider magazine. As of 2015, Jack owned 24.4% of the company. 

    Apart from this, he also served as a judge for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's NYC BigApps competition in 2011.

    Jack Patrick Dorsey was born on 19th November 1976 in St. Louis, Missouri, the United States of America to Marcia Smith and Tim Dorsey. He holds an American nationality and has mixed (English, Irish, Italian) ancestry. 

    He went to Catholic Bishop DuBourg High School and the University of Missouri-Rolla from 1995 to 1997. He later transferred to New York University before dropping out in 1999.

    In October 2019, he donated $350,000 to #TeamTrees, a nonprofit started by YouTuber MrBeast, who pledged to plant 20 million trees by the end of 2019.
