    One of the few actresses in history to have achieved the Triple Crown of Acting, Jessica Lange, 71, is an American actress who made her breakthrough as Dawn in the 1993 action-adventure film King Kong alongside Jeff Bridges and Charles Grodin

    Following her acting debut in 1976, Lange has appeared in numerous films and tv shows as of 2020. For her work in the entertainment industry, she has won two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe, three Emmy Awards, and several others. A few of her notable film credits are Tootsie, Country, Grey Gardens, Music Box, Blue Sky, and A Thousand Acres.

    Jessica Phyllis Lange was born on 20th April 1949 in Cloquet, Minnesota, the United States of America to Albert John Lange, who was a teacher and Dorothy Florence, a housewife. She has German and Finnish ancestry and is an American as per her nationality. 

    She grew up alongside her siblings Jane, Ann, and George in Cloquet, where she attended Cloquet High School. She then joined the University of Minnesota to study art photography; however, she dropped out to pursue a different lifestyle. Moreover, she studied acting at HB Studio in New York. 

    King Kong star met her then-future husband Francisco 'Paco' Grande while attending university. The couple dated for a while and exchanged their wedding vows on 29th July 1970. 

    However, they separated after moving to Europe in the mid-1970s, and their divorce was finalized in the early 1980s. As per sources, Lange paid an undisclosed amount in alimony.

    During the initial phase of her career, Jessica worked as a model for the Wilhelmina modeling agency. During this time, she was discovered by producer Dino De Laurentis

    She made her film debut as Dawn in the 1976 film King Kong. The film was made under the budget of $23-24 million and grossed around $74.9-90.6 million in the box office.

    Apart from her busy life as an actress, she is also involved in numerous philanthropic works. She is the Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, which specializes in the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
