Kit Harington & Rose Leslie Are Married Since 2018, Their Life Before and After Wedding

Jon Snow and Ygritte- the two doomed lovers in Game of Throne swept fans off their feet with their star-crossed romance. In a show with zombies, dragons and an undead army, their love warmed the hearts of even the most hardened fans who had learned to associate Game of Thrones with the untimely death of their favorite characters. And wouldn't you know it, [spoiler alert] Ygritte perished in the battle of Castle Black, leaving Jon Snow- and the rest of the world- distraught.

The world rejoiced when the actors playing the characters, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, started dating in real-life. We knew on-screen chemistry such as Jon and Ygritte had on Game of Thrones couldn't be all-pretend!

Kit and Rose's love is one for the ages, and we look at how the two on-screen lovers became real-life husband and wife.

They Fell in Love on the Set of Game of Thrones  

Rose and Kit met on the set of Game of Thrones in 2012 when the show was in its second season. Kit was a regular on the show as Jon Snow and his character gets involved in a romantic relationship with Leslie's character, Ygritte.

Their love story blossomed off-screen, and soon, the two became romantically involved in real-life.

In a 2016 interview with Vogue, Kit spoke of his falling in love with Leslie while filming on-location in Iceland:

"The country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love. If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it’s becomes very easy to fall in love.”

Kit Proposed to Rose in 2017 and Went Public with an Announcement in The Times of London

In an interview with Jonathan Ross on his show, Kit recalled his popping of the question, and how he had intended to propose at a later date, but pulling the trigger during a romantic night out in the English countryside.

"I did have some plans to do it, I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff, but we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine and I blew my load early."

Leslie told her side of things in an interview with TV Week.

"I was blissfully surprised when he dropped to a knee and asked me to marry him. We happened to be in the English countryside, which is kind of an area that I don't know that well. It was at night time under a beautiful blanket of stars. The man did well. It was highly romantic."

They went public with their engagement maintaining the age-old English tradition of announcing their betrothal in the national daily, The Times of London.

Among the in-attendants were their Game of Thrones co-stars Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams.

As on-lookers looked on in reverence, Kit and Rose exchanged their wedding vows and were officially pronounced man and wife.

The newlywed couple drove off in a vintage Land Rover over to a private reception at Wardhill Castle in Aberdeenshire: the familial home of Leslie.

Kit Harington Accused of Cheating by Olga Vlaslova in November 2018 

The ink on their marriage license hadn't even dried when rumors began circulating in November 2018 about Kit cheating on Leslie with the Russian actress and model, Olga Vlaslova. Vlaslova was the one who made the incendiary comments, prompting Kit's rep to deny the rumors on his behalf.

"The allegations in this story are completely false. [Harington] has never even been to Luxembourg nor has he ever met Olga Vlasova." 

Kit Entered into Rehab for "Personal Problems" in May 2019

It seemed the couple could not catch a break, as after the cheating accusations died down due to a lack of substantive evidence, Kit entered into a wellness retreat in May 2019 due to some "personal problems."

The "personal problems" turned out to be alcohol dependency due to mounting stress. 

The luxury retreat is reportedly the Privé-Swiss in New England, Connecticut, that costs $120,000 a month. 

Rose and Kit's Divorce Rumors Began Circulating in October 2019

With all that has been going on or supposedly been going on in Kit and Rose's married life, separation rumors are bound to make the rounds of the rumor mill.

The rumors were never more prominent than mid-2019 when Kit walked the red carpet of the Emmy Award alone. Conspicuous by her absence, reports began making the rounds that Rose and Kit's marriage was on the rocks.

A source close to Rose and Kit has said that nothing is farther from the truth. In fact, the two have been getting closer since Kit's rehab stint. They lean on each other through some of the worst of times- what with Leslie's family's financial woes piling on the stress.

As of now, Kit and Rose's marriage is not headed for splitsville any time soon and all the rumors and speculations surrounding their marriage are just that.

They were spotted walking hand-in-hand out of the LAX airport after skipping the 2020 Golden Globes, looking very much in love.
