Dorthea Lauren Allegra Lapkus on 6th September 1985 in Evanston, Illinois, in the United States. She has not disclosed the name of her parents and also has an older brother, whose name is not unknown. She is of American nationality and her ethnicity is mixed consisting of Greek and Serbian ancestry.

She studied at the Evanston Township High School and took improv lessons at the iO Theater. Lapkus graduated in 2008 with a degree in English from DePaul University.

34-years-old is a married woman and is currently in a relationship with Mike Castle since 5th October 2018. She was previously married to actor Chris Alvarado. They married on 3rd May 2014 and divorced on 14th February 2016.
