What You Need to Know About Netflix's Fate: The Winx Saga: Cast, Plot Details, and Release Date

Fate: The Winx Saga is an upcoming live-action adaptation of the Nickelodeon animated fantasy adventure series Winx Club. The series takes place in a magical realm torn in a war between its magical inhabitants.

The series is set to release all six episodes on January 22, 2021, on Netflix. With the release day almost at hand, we look at why you should be excited about the show.

What is Fate: The Winx Saga About?

Fate: The Winx Saga is based on the Italian-American animated fantasy series Winx Club that aired on Nickelodeon from January 2004 to November 2009 and revived for a run from June 2011 to September 2019.

Fate: The Winx Saga is set in Otherworld, a magical realm inhabited by mystical creatures, and will center around five fairies attending the Alfea College for Fairies.

The coming-of-age adult drama series is revamped to appeal to a more adult audience with themes like love, relationships, and adulthood all the while fighting monsters of all kinds.

Who Will Star in Fate: The Winx Saga?

Fate: The Winx Saga will primarily star a cast of relative newcomers.

The central characters of the series will be played by Abigail Cowen as Bloom, the fairy of fire; Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella, the fairy of the Sun; Elisha Applebaum as Musa, the fairy of music; and Precious Mustapha as Aisha, the fairy of the waves; and Eliot Salt as Terra

Other characters include Danny Griffin as Sky, the love interest of Bloom; Freddie Thorp as Riven, the love interest of Musa; Sadie Soverall as Beatrix; Theo Graham as Dane; Jacob Dudman as Sam; and Robert James-Collier as Silva.

How Will The Live-Action Adaptation Be Different From The Animated Series?

While the original Nickelodeon animated series upon which the Netflix adaptation is based very much caters to a younger demographic, the Netflix series is being billed as a young adult drama series, and as such, caters to teenagers and young adults.

The Netflix series will not major be a departure from the original series in that it will still have elements of fantasy and magic but will focus on the coming-of-age story of the five fairies and their struggles with love, relationships, and growing up all the while fighting monsters of all kinds.
