Pregnant Jamie Otis Reveals Her Diagnosis With HPV-A Possible Sign Of Early Cancer

Married at First Sight alum Jamie Otis is expecting her second child with husband Doug Hehner. The 33-year-old television star revealed her pregnancy in September after 18 months of struggling to expand the family.

The lovebirds suffered two miscarriages and a series of negative results on pregnancy tests before they finally conceived the baby. Otis wrote on her pregnancy announcement,

I cannot even believe it! After 18 long, painful months, two losses and negative after negative on the pregnancy tests we are *finally* pregnant again!

In January 2019, Otis revealed she had suffered another miscarriage in an Instagram post-Otis was 10 weeks along. Back in 2016, Otis and Hehner lost their first baby, a boy, Jonathan Edward, when Otis was 17 weeks pregnant. A year later, Otis and Hehner welcomed their first child, a daughter Henley Grace Hehner in August 2017.

Otis is currently on the same phase of pregnancy when she lost her first son, and the signs are not favorable this time, as well. The television star opened up about her health diagnosis with her followers on Instagram. In the Wednesday post (4th December 2019), Otis said she tested positive for HPV (Human Papilloma Virus).

Jamie Otis's Diagnosis Is A Possible Early Signs Of Cancer

Opening up more about the diagnosis, Otis said though HPV sounds like an STD, it is somewhat common and less severe. She added she had a colposcopy to take a better look at the skin cells in her genitalia. She said it is not an issue until the doctor finds dysplasia, which would mean a sign of early cancer.

She continued,

I just have to wait until after I have the baby to really know what's going on inside me, but I'm just putting the positive vibes out there & praying & being so THANKFUL for my health.

Meanwhile, Otis has also talked about the procedures and the whole thing in a short video while she was at the doctor's getting the colposcopy. She has put the video on a YouTube channel, titled Hot Marriage Cool Parents.

In the video, Otis also talks about women who are pregnant and diagnosed with cancer or fatal disease. She further said she couldn't even imagine the situation where she has to decide whether to treat herself and risk losing the baby or postpone treatment to save the baby. At the end of the video, she said,

My heart goes out to those mamas. If you're one of them, I'm sending you SO MUCH LOVE. ðŸ’—

We hope everything goes fine with the former The Bachelor star, and she would experience healthy motherhood.
