Campbell saw a performance of The Nutcracker when she was six years old and from then on wanted to become a ballet dancer.

In fact, she enrolled at the Erinvale School of Dance and later moved to the National Ballet School of Canada. She appeared on performances of pieces The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and The Phantom of the Opera from the school.

Later, she had to quit ballet as her joints could not support her weight and had to undergo surgery to remove a bunion.
