7. Brec Was A Competitive Cheerleader 

Brec took up the acting career professionally from the year 2013. However, in her home state of Texas, the School of Rock actress was a competitive cheerleader before moving to Los Angeles. 

Furthermore, Brec delineated the details of her outfit in a conversation with Teen Vogue, saying she had three different outfits with the different color combinations. 

Her outfit color combination was red and blue. She also further added that she would pick a player and make a t-shirt for the specific one before the start of the game.

6. She Took Private Lessons To Be a Quarterback  

After doing two shows, Brec got cast in the lead role for an American comedy television series Bella and the Bulldogs that aired on Nickelodeon. Along with Brec, the series starred Coy Stewart, Buddy Handleson, Lilimar, Jackie Radinsky, and many more. 

The lead character Bella Dawson is a popular head cheerleader that decides to chase her dreams of becoming the quarterback of her middle school's American Football team, the Bulldogs. 

While Brec already had cheerleading in her bag, the quarterback did not come easy to her. She went to two weeks of football camp and took some private lessons to learn how to be a quarterback. 

To be able to portray her role, she wanted to understand the persona of a quarterback from the way they walk to the way they speak and not just the physical stuff. 

Nevertheless, like Bella, Brec also loves sports and has played volleyball, basketball, and track and field.

5. Brec Became A Ground Reporter For Super Bowl 50 

Nickelodeon teamed up with the National Football League to give fans a sneak peek of inside related details from Super Bowl 50. This teaming up featured the famous Nickelodeon stars allowing Brec to get involved in Super Bowl week. 

She enthusiastically exclaimed, "I am not only going to the Super Bowl; I am going to the 50th Super Bowl" about her participation in the event.

While in the event, Brec and her costar Coy Stewart gave updates as on the Nickelodeon meets NFL experience proving their chemistry both on and off-screen. 

4. Her Hobby Includes Binge-Watching

Like all normal teenagers, Brec has included binge-watching as her hobby too.  

On an interview with The TV Page, the Liar, Liar, Vampire actress stated her preference for drama genre series rather than comedy-centric one. She likes American Horror Story and is catching up on Lost on Netflix.  

Besides watching Grey's Anatomy, her love for the series goes as far as wanting to appear on the show along with all the amazing actors as Ellen Pompeo, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, and many more.

3. Beauty Pageant Lead To An Acting Career

Brec started her acting career at an early age with the role Zoe McIntosh for the first episode in season one of The Goldbergs and a recurring role in the series The Haunted Hathaways.   

However, she started participating in beauty pageants at the age of three. A pageant judge who happened to be a filmmaker asked her to be in one of his films when she was just six years old.  

The foray to the movie instilled the passion for acting. She then started taking classes and eventually garnered success for her commitment.  

As a matter of fact, Brec won the Little Miss World title back in 2009. 

2. Being A Diabetic Patient, She Is An Ambassador Of JDFR

On a weekend trip with her mother and grandmother, she visited the doctor when her mother noticed a change in the demeanor. Later, at just the age of eight, she became diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. 

The diagnosis that led to the insulin regimen has not changed her accomplishment. From being active in track and field and cheerleading to working as an actress, she also serves as an ambassador for JDFR, a non-profit organization that funds research related to type 1 diabetes. It was formerly named Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

As an ambassador, she is grateful for the community that allows her to meet people with a similar struggle that she goes on a day-to-day basis and makes her feel less alone. 

1. Brec Is The Third Actress To Play Stargirl

Brec is all set to play the superhero Stargirl in the upcoming web series of the same title based on DC Comics.  

However, Brec is not the first person to play the character. 

The fictional character Courtney Whitmore is known as Stargirl first appeared in television series Smallville which was portrayed by Canadian actress Britt Irvin.  

Sarah Grey became the second actress to play as Stargirl in the second season of the series Legends of Tomorrow

Bassinger will play the lead role in the series Stargirl which will release in early 2020. It will premiere on DC Universe and The CW.
