It is not hard to imagine where Lauren gets her acting chops and her eye for the dramatic from.
Lauren has been outspoken about her early struggles with depression and an eating disorder. Her depression was exacerbated by constant bullying throughout middle school.
Events culminated in her attempting suicide while she was in 7th grade. Thankfully, she pulled through, and things turned out for the better.
No one is perhaps more sympathetic to the plight of people with mental illnesses than Lauren, considering her struggles with depression.
An empath at heart, she is a fierce advocate of mental health and spearheaded the Kind movement with her friend Molly Thompson in 2009. The movement promotes kindness and advocates against bullying.
