7. Golden Globe Award-winning Lead of Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Andy Samberg plays Jake Peralta in the police procedural comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The two-time Creative Arts Emmy Award-winning sitcom also has an ensemble cast that includes Terry Crews, Andre Braugher, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, and Chelsea Peretti, among others.

For his portrayal of Jake Peralta, Samberg was awarded the Golden Globe Award in the Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy category in 2014.

6. Father of Daughter with Wife Joanna Newsom

Andy Samberg is a self-professed superfan of the musician Joanna Newsom. They met when Samberg attended a concert in which Joanna was performing. Things gradually progressed to dating, and when Samberg proposed marriage in February 2013 after five years of dating, Joanna said "Yes!"

They got married on September 21, 2013, in a ceremony in Big Sur, California. Among the in-attendants was one Seth Meyers- of SNL fame. 

They were blessed with a daughter, born in August 2017. Secretive as they are, the name of their daughter has not been disclosed.

5. Debuted in the Big Screen with 2007's Hot Rod

Andy Samberg debuted on the silver screen as the lead, Rod Kimble, with the 2007 comedy movie, Hot Rod. 

Despite being panned by critics and bombing at the box-office, Samberg's performance solidified him as the next big thing in comedy and in acting.

4. Founding Member of the Comedy Troupe The Lonely Island

Before he became an established name in the industry, Samberg was an aspiring comedian cutting his teeth in the online comedy market with his friends Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone. They eventually formed the comedy trio, The Lonely Island, of which Andy is still a member. 

The Lonely Island started uploading comedy sketches on YouTube around the time the platform blew up and gained an online cult following.

Their material was used in the sketch-comedy show Saturday Night Live!, helping Andy get in a foot through the door. They also became a movie production agency and produced Samberg's debut movie, Hot Rod.

3. Had a Tenured Stint with Saturday Night Live!

For his work with The Lonely Island, Andy was offered a featured role in Saturday Night Live!

Andy worked for SNL for seven years before departing from the show in 2012 to work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

2. Voiced of "Baby" Brent McHale in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Jonathan "Johnny" Loughran in Hotel Transylvania
