As a matter of fact, Howard Stern even went as far as to fat shame her in public which according to Wilson devastated her.

She tried losing weight but only lost a little and later gained it all back. After all this, she decided to undergo gastric bypass surgery. She broadcast the whole procedure live on the Internet, which she claimed was a life-saving procedure for her.

The star went from 300 lbs. (140 kg) to 150 lbs. (70) after the surgery.

What Compelled Her To A Second Surgery?

Wilson’s weight loss was highly publicized and she even said that she would pose for Playboy. In addition to this, she also went on infomercials to tell people how satisfied she was with the weight loss.

After all this, she went on to gain weight again and became a contestant on the show Celebrity Fit Club. She lost 22 pounds (9.9 kg) on the show but all in vain as she would eventually gain it all back.

Similar to how comedians made fun of her weight in 1999, in 2008 she was ridiculed for being overweight. Her snacking habits and unhealthy diet contributed to this rapid weight gain.

In fact, she was also relieved from her post as the spokesperson for The Fresh Diet for not following their diet and promoting cheesecakes. A representative of the fitness initiative said,

“We had to take her off the corporate website because she has not been a successful case. She didn’t stick to it, and she didn’t lose weight. We had to cut ties with her,” a publicist for The Fresh Diet said. “Carnie was promoting her cheesecakes while she was supposed to be only eating our three meals and two snacks a day.”

In addition to her unhealthy diet, the birth of her daughters, Lola in 2005 and Luciana in 2009 also made it difficult for her to maintain a strict and well-balanced food regiment. Carnie said,

“Having children derailed me a bit. I’m just frustrated with these pounds.” Commenting on her struggle to not gain weight during the 2000s.

This led her to get another procedure and get back in shape. This time (2012), she underwent lap-band surgery.

In an interview, she stated,

“It was the right decision for me and I’m doing really well so far. It’s all about taking good care of myself.”
