2. Was Instructed To Keep His Appearance in His Dark Materials a Secret

Amir had auditioned for the role of Will Parry at the beginning of 2018 but was told that he was too young for the position. However, a year later, in early 2019. Amir got called back again, and after giving five or six auditions, he eventually received the role.

But Wilson remained under an obligation to not share the news with anyone until the official statement. In an interview with the Entertainment Weekly, Wilson exclaimed, 

"At the premiere, if people were to ask me if I was in season one, I had to say straight “no.” I had not talked about it with anyone. ‘Cause people knew that I was announced as Will previously, a couple months before I was shown. People thought that was just for season two and they timed it so we could film Will’s world just in time for the season one premiere."

Like everyone would in such a situation, Wilson had a hard time keeping the news a secret, adding, 

"I had to keep it a secret, which was really hard because I wanted to tell people, “I’m in season 1! I’m in season 1!” Had to keep it hush."

Wilson had some fantastic stories to share from the set in a conversation with NME. But among all, falling off on the floor is something he will never forget. Initially, Wilson had been told to fall off the horse into the hands of Ruby Ashbourne Serkis; but he fell onto the floor instead. 

"Ruby let me fall on to the floor. That was my main memory of the shooting. I think I lost memories because of that!” Wilson added.
