    One of the most promising actor as well as models, Tom Welling, is mostly recognized for his portrayal in the longest-running series, Smallville which aired from 2001 to 2011. The movie was listed in number six of Best Shows for Families by Parents Television Council.

    Similarly, he is also known for his performance in Lucifer as Lt. Marcus Pierce, Batwoman as Clark Kent, and Cheaper by the Dozen as Charlie Baker. In addition, as a model, he worked for several clothing brands such as Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Apart from being an actor and a model, he is also a director and producer.

    Tom Welling started his career in the Hollywood industry after a photography scout noticed him while they were looking for a fresh face for a magazine.  

    After being selected, he started working for Louisa Modeling Agency where he modeled for several bands including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Abercrombie and Fitch.

    In 2000, he left the modelling agency to move to LA to start his career as an actor. He appeared in the series such as T.J. Maxx and 7 UP. After a year, he made his TV debut appearing in the CBS television series, Karate Rob. Following this, he made guest appearances in Special Unit 2 and Undeclared.

    His career got limelight after he appeared in the TV series, Smallville. The series is based on DC Comics (Super character) where he played the role of Clark Kent. For his appearance in the series, he was supposedly paid $175,000 per episode from 2009 to 2010.  

    Similarly, he has appeared in the series such as Man Fire Food, Lucifer, Professionals, and Batwoman. 


    His big-screen debut came in 2003 with his role in comedy movie Cheaper By The Dozen which earned $190.2 million at the box office. Following this, he appeared on movies such as The Fog, Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (earned $135 million), Parkland, Draft Day, and The Choice.  

    Direction And Production  

    For his directorial debut, he directed Smallville's episode Fragile in 2006 and went on to direct six other episodes of the series. 

    As for his producer credits, Tom worked as a co-executive producer for 21 episodes from 2009 to 2010 and as an executive producer for another 21 episodes from 2010 to 2011 for Smallville. He also worked as an executive producer to two other shows, Hellcats and Professionals.

    Tom Welling was born Thomas Joseph Welling on April 26, 1977, in New York, the USA to Tom Welling Sr. and Bonnie Welling as a third child. His two elder sisters are Rebecca Welling and Jamie Welling and his younger brother, Mark Welling (who is also an actor).

    Regarding education, he completed his high school at Okemos High School. During his school days, he was very active in sport such as football and basketball. Similarly, he was also a member of a drama group.
