Ephraim dropped out of the role when ABC canceled the sitcom in May 2017. When the show was picked up by Fox, Ephraim, unlike the other leads didn't return and was instead replaced by McCook for the show's revived seventh season.

The replacement was not well-received and McCook received the brunt of fans' derision. She did manage to win them over with her stellar performance in the end.

The sitcom stars Tim Allen, Nancy Travis, Amanda Fuller, Kaitlyn Dever, Christoph Sanders, Héctor Elizondo, and Jordan Masterson, and had its recent eighth season premiere on January 2, 2020.

4. Played Darlene in Netflix's The Ranch

McCook featured in another sitcom, this time for the streaming juggernaut, Netflix, The Ranch. She played the recurring character, Darlene Roth, in the sitcom.

The sitcom ran for four seasons from April 1, 2016, to January 24, 2020, and starred Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Debra Winger, and Sam Elliott as the dysfunctional Bennett family and owners of the fictional Iron River Ranch.

Other prominent cast members that were featured included Elisha Cuthbert, Kelli Goss, Barry Corbin, and Megyn Price, among others.

She is the daughter of John McCook and his third wife, Laurette Spang, both of whom had been prominent actors in their heyday.

Her father was known for his roles in soap operas like The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless.

Her mother was famous for playing Cassiopeia in the sci-fi cult classic, Battlestar Galactica.
